Piles Surgery

Skilled in Piles surgery and interventions

Piles are swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum or anus, and their management can involve both non-surgical and surgical approaches. While Ayurveda primarily emphasizes non-surgical methods for the treatment of piles, surgical intervention may be considered in certain cases where conservative measures have not provided relief. In Ayurveda, the surgical treatment of piles (hemorrhoids) is known as “Arsha-Shastra Karma.” It’s important to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or surgeon for a proper evaluation and personalized treatment plan.

If you are interested in trying Piles surgery, it is recommended to seek out an experienced surgeon who can guide you through the process safely and effectively. We, Sahaj ayurveda, Adalaj have trained staff and a qualified and experienced Ayurved surgeon who can perform such operation in a better way. We have trained operation theatre staff for male and female assistance.

Ayurvedic surgical and para-surgical procedures for piles typically involve the following:

  1. Kshara Sutra Therapy: This technique involves the application of a specialized thread called Kshara Sutra to the base of the hemorrhoids. The thread is prepared with a combination of herbal and alkaline ingredients. It gradually helps in shrinking the hemorrhoids/ piles and facilitating their detachment from the body.
  2. Agnikarma: This procedure involves the use of heat to cauterize the hemorrhoidal tissues. A specialized instrument, such as a heated metal probe, is used to burn the piles. The heat helps in shrinking the hemorrhoids and promoting healing.
  3. Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda: This is a type of Ayurvedic fomentation therapy that involves the application of medicated poultices made from cooked rice and herbal decoctions. It can be beneficial in reducing pain, inflammation, and discomfort associated with piles.
  4. Chhedan Karma (Hemorrhoidectomy): Hemorrhoidectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove hemorrhoids, which are swollen and inflamed blood vessels in the rectum or anus. It is considered an effective treatment for severe or recurring hemorrhoids that have not responded to non-surgical interventions. There are different techniques of hemorrhoidectomy, including conventional excisional hemorrhoidectomy, stapled hemorrhoidopexy (also known as PPH or procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids), and laser or electrocautery techniques. The choice of technique depends on factors such as the severity of the hemorrhoids and the surgeon’s expertise.
  5. Alternative Treatments: While hemorrhoidectomy is an effective treatment option for severe hemorrhoids, non-surgical methods are usually recommended as the initial approach. These can include Ayurvedic conservative treatment, lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, topical medications, Kshar sutra ligation, Rubber band ligation, Sclerotherapy, and Infrared coagulation. These non-surgical options are generally less invasive and may be sufficient for many cases. It’s important to note that the decision to undergo surgical treatment for piles in Ayurveda is based on the severity of the condition, the individual’s overall health, and the assessment of the Ayurvedic practitioner or surgeon. The specific surgical technique used may vary depending on the case and the practitioner’s expertise.
